The Saarland Hydrogen Agency was commissioned by Saarbrücken Airport to develop a future-proof energy supply concept.
H2Saar’s tasks were to tender the project, award the contract and provide technical support during the development phase.
The concept:
At the heart of the transformation path is the optimal use of existing photovoltaic systems, whose performance is significantly increased through re-powering.
The recommendations:
In combination with on-site production, hydrogen could be produced using PEM electrolysis. The result of the project is the recommendation to market the quantities of hydrogen produced, to use the waste heat from electrolysis in the heating network and to conclude PPAs in addition to re-powering the PV system.
